It all starts with an idea!
I wanted a design that would allow me to use fabric from as many shirts as I could. This one seemed to do the trick. The only fabric that is not from their items is the border and binding. The back is a fleece blanket that they had given me to use as well. I quilted it in the ginger heart pattern and just love how it turned out.
This heart quilt was made for a 4 year old from her mother’s shirts and dresses. The white background is the girl’s baby blanket.
This stars quilt was made for a feisty middle school girl. The stars are t-shirt material, flannel and blouses. The border was from a dress with the background being a cotton fabric with inspirational wording.
The block quilt was made for a middle school boy from all T-shirts. The borders around each one is a cotton fabric with inspirational wording.
The window pane quilt was made for a graduating high school senior from T-shirts and the grunge cotton fabric line. I used t-shirts for the borders as well, which really made everything come together for this quilt.
This filmstrip quilt was designed from some pictures I saw. I really made it up as I went so I could be sure to fit in all the T-shirts that I had. The material between each strip was from T-shirts as well. The quilting is the ginger star design.
